Photography is something I can appreciate to a point, but I’ll rarely see a photographers work and feel that sense of urgency and desperation to find more of their work – it’s just not something I study much into. Kirsty Mitchell, however, is one of those rare occasions. The Wonderland series is just perfect in every way. The level of detail and thought that goes into each of her shoots does not go unnoticed.
I’m not sure exactly how I came across her work to begin with; I think I saw ‘The Lavender Princess’ promoted on one of the Art and Design pages I had ‘liked’ on Facebook a couple of years ago and couldn’t stop myself researching further into her fantastic work. I really love how I have followed her work from almost the beginning, and now she has over 100,000 ‘likes’ on her facebook page – yet still posts these humble status’ thanking her fans, proclaiming her shock of her success – which is just crazy when you look at her work! Her success is so well deserved! She creates absolutely everything herself; from the costumes to the props, and the scenes are completely real. ‘Wonderland’ has been running for 4 years now, and is due for completion Winter 2013. It is a series dedicated to her mother who died of cancer in 2008.
Reblogged this on Henri van de Zee.

Beautiful 🙂 , as well as inspiring
I agree. It was so hard choosing the images to use in this post – I’d strongly recommend looking at the rest of her work if you haven’t already!
